Effective July 2018, Google’s Chrome browser will mark all non-HTTPS sites as ‘not secure’ a very obvious warning that will scare away customers and damage your credibility.

WHAT IS SSL AND HTTPS?
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer and ensures the link between your web server and your visitor’s web browser is encrypted. This means the data passed between the two is private and secure.
When a website has an SSL certificate installed, your URL will begin with “https://www…” instead of “http://www…”
HTTPS prevents intruders from tampering with or passively listening in on the communications between your site and your users.
